Сахалинцам удалось подготовить продукты питания, в которые включили консервы, муку, сахар, масло. Также они собрали одежду, в том числе школьную форму для детей. Помимо жителей, помощь оказывали частные предприниматели и организации.
В Южно-Сахалинске в общей сложности удалось собрать11 тонн. Затем же подключились и другие муниципалитеты, которые подготовили 9 тонн всего самого необходимого.
Сбор грузов начался ещё в феврале. За полгода в ДНР было отправлено более 50 тонн гуманитарной помощи. Министр социальной защиты Сахалинской области Ольга Орлова отметила, что сейчас как никогда важно делать подобное.
