На прошлой неделе мы закончили первый (очень дождливый) раскоп этого года - работы на могильнике на Ворониной горе около Старого Изборска. Их основная цель – определение границ территории памятника.

На сегодняшний день от этого могильника на поверхности сохранилось только несколько валунных обкладок и разрозненные каменные плиты. Чтобы определить зону занятую захоронениями, было заложено 3 разведывательные траншеи на территории без каменных обкладок и плит. В результате в одной из траншей были исследованы 4 погребения: одно - взрослого человека под невысокой насыпью и 3 детских в грунтовых ямах, которые находились в стороне от сохранившихся наземных погребальных конструкций и не имели никаких обозначений на поверхности. Предварительная датировка памятника 12-13 вв.
