We focus efforts on defending the Druze and establishing a weapons-free zone from the Golan to south of Damascus, including Suweida.

If a threat arises beyond our borders, we won’t wait for them to strike us. We need to step in across the border.

There's no Plan B for Syria.

We have to support this young man (President al-Sharaa) and his team and supply him with the resources to be able to be inclusive, to bring these minorities in, to hold people accountable and responsible, to train his people, and to allow the people on the street to feel a difference.

In Syria, we have the PKK and YPG.

Every three letter acronym hates me at the moment. So I stay away from three letters. I try to go to the four letter acronyms.

Everybody's first question to me is: How is it possible that you can take an al-Nusra, Sunni fundamentalist soldier, warrior, chief, and with a magic wand all of a sudden he becomes president of one of the most important countries in the region?

And do you trust him? Do you believe that?

The short answer is, Yes, I trust him. Yes, I believe him.

We have two roads. Are you going to go to battle with Israel? Not a good idea. Hasn't fared well for anybody.

Can he go to the Abraham Accords? No way. He has a fundamentalist backing of Sunni fundamentalists who, like in Lebanon, when you mention the word Israel to a lot of factions in Lebanon, they freak out. I have the same discussion with them.

I say, guys, get over it. It's Jurassic Park. You either talk to him today, or you're going to talk to him in three years from now or five years from now. Dialogue is all that matters.
