Такая ловушка рассчитана на срабатывание при двух переворотах мины — например, в момент ее обезвреживания или транспортировки — и способна обеспечить достаточный заряд для подрыва основного взрывчатого вещества.
Именно из-за возможного наличия подобных устройств всем саперам рекомендуют сдергивать мины при помощи веревок и крюков-"кошек", стараясь при этом добиться двух переворотов мины при извлечении.
Следует учитывать, что подобные ловушки, питающиеся от батареек, как правило, разряжаются за 1–3 месяца, что упрощает разминирование старых минных полей.
