Арон Резников, первый ректор Тольяттинского политехнического института (ныне ТГУ), в годы войны был эвакуирован из Харькова в Алма-Ату. Там он работал в Казахском сельскохозяйственном институте, где занимался производством и проектированием изделий оборонного значения.
В 1944 году перевёлся в Куйбышевский индустриальный институт, где стал заведующим кафедрой «Металлорежущие станки и инструменты». В 1945 году защитил кандидатскую, а в 1959 году — докторскую диссертации. С 1967 по 1979 год был ректором ТПИ.
