Министерство транспорта и устойчивой мобильности Испании одобрило проект строительства новой высокоскоростной железнодорожной линии от Севильи до Уэльвы в регионе Андалусия. Она сократит время в пути между двумя городами с 1,5 часов до 26-30 минут.
Длина новой линии – 95 км, она будет рассчитана на максимальную скорость в 350 км/ч. Минтранс Испании считает, что максимальный уклон на маршруте до 1,5% позволит также запустить по нему грузовые составы.
Испания обладает развитой сетью высокоскоростных железных дорог. В настоящее время она состоит из четырёх основных линий и нескольких ответвлений. Общая протяженность сети ВСМ Испании составляет 3973 км, что делает испанскую сеть ВСМ самой большой в Европе.
