Игорь Есауленко был академиком РАЕН, Почётным гражданином Воронежа. В 2020 году был избран депутатом Воронежской областной думы, был зампредом комитета по охране здоровья и входил в комитет по образованию, науке и молодежной политике.
Профессор Игорь Есауленко – автор более 400 научных публикаций, включая 17 монографий, 7 учебников и учебных пособий, утверждённых Минздравом России.
