Учения проходят с 26 по 29 мая в рамках концепции Agile Combat Employment (ACE), предусматривающей развертывание авиации вне постоянных аэродромов, на дорогах, в лесах, на временных площадках.
Идея подобных эрзац-аэродромов не нова, ее использовали во время Холодной войны, а сейчас, на фоне роста истерии по поводу агрессии со стороны России, неагрессивный Североатлантический альянс возвращается к таким практикам.
