New York Times со ссылкой на Instituto Terra, сообщает о смерти в возрасте 81 года известного бразильского фотографа и фотожурналиста Себастьяна Рибейру Салгаду. Instituto Terra - «Институт Земли», - НКО, основанная Салгаду с супругой в 1998г. целях восстановления и сохранения уникальных растений тропических лесов Бразилии. Начиная с поместья семьи Салгаду, удалось высадить более 2млн. деревьев и за 20 лет восстановить лес на площади 600 Га в долине реки Риу-Доси. Вместе с лесом восстановилось и биоразнообразие животного мира.
Территория была превращена в заповедник «Bulcão Farm».
