This tour will explore the industrial age of Britain and the birth of America. Rotherhithe is where many pilgrims who went to America (the new world) lived and where they departed from. Rotherhithe has a host of history covering piracy, the docks, and much more. Please keep in mind that there's little at the station so if you get there early there's not much in the immediate vacinty until we start walking.
Join us for a walk and a few refreshments as we delve into the living museums of #Britain.
The tours will last between 2-1/2 to 3 hours (usually more) and will end in a pub.
Prices: £20 per ticket (for over 18s), 16-18: £10 Under 16s: Free (If accompanied by a paying adult)

"So Telegram has become essential for understanding what's going on to the Russian-speaking world." Andrey, a Russian entrepreneur living in Brazil who, fearing retaliation, asked that NPR not use his last name, said Telegram has become one of the few places Russians can access independent news about the war. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup.
