28 февраля в аэропорту Афин был задержан бывший топ-менеджер компании ВЕТЭК Евгений Калинин. Вместе с владельцем компании, "кошельком Януковича" Сергеем Курченко, он в 2014 году бежал из Украины и скрывался от украинского правосудия.
В РФ его шеф Курченко нажил врагов, торгуя донбасскими ресурсами и отжимая бизнес у конкурентов. Не исключено, что Калинин боялся за свою жизнь и решил убежать из России.
Сейчас он сидит в тюрьме Коридаллос, ожидая запроса на экстрадицию в Украину.
Калинин может стать хорошим свидетелем в деле Курченко и дать показания относительно дел шефа, в том числе и на временно оккупированных территориях Донбасса.
