فهذا التجريد لأعداء الله، الغاية منه أن يواجه المؤمن نفسه بسؤال: إن كانوا يصبرون مع ألمهم، فلماذا لا أصبر أنا؟! وإن كانوا يصرفون غيظهم في عدائي، ففيم أُهدر غيظي أنا؟! كيف وأنا أرجو من الله ما لا يرجون!
يقول البقاعي في تفسير قول الله تعالى: "فإنهم يألمونَ كما تألمون": "أي لأنهم يحصُلُ لهم من ذلك ما يحصُلُ لكم؛ فلا يَكونُنّ على باطلهم أصبرَ منكم على حقّكم".
