Строго говоря, такой элемент называется - маскарон, с ударением на О. Маскарон - это любое изображение головы или, как в случае с человеком - лица.
Потому, если вы увидите на фасаде Вакха, женскую голову, голову быка или барана - все это маскароны.
Но‼️ Всегда есть но. В случае с бычьей головой, это - букрании. А в случае с бараньей - эгикрании. Дословно, в переводе с греческого, это означает «череп барана»🤷🏻♂️(помните фразу: «под эгидой»? Оно означает под овечьей шкурой).
Так вот, в курдонёре ессентукской грязелечебницы, мы видим именно эгикрании. (Но, если вы скажете «маскарон» - Земля не сойдет с орбиты😅).
