Если честно, я вздохнул, увидев эту книгу в посылке от Сандалова. Долгие годы Лимонов был моим любимым писателем, в какой-то момент я прочитал у него всё уже вышедшее. Но последнее десятилетие он меня только бесил, спасибо соцсетям. И я забыл, что в его прозе всегда были эти проблески чистоты, по которым я сам учился писать. Нет, тут хватает и нудных мудростей подросткового эджи формата. Иисус как Чарли Мэнсон, народ из одного человека, сила как обоснование права на владения землёй (сейчас у него был бы когнитивный диссонанс). Но когда он забывал о позе, то его естественный, природный талант вновь пробивался через всё наносное: «Что-то, сидя там, одинокий, я пытался понять, но так и не понял. Вставало утро, и город обещал быть раскалённым.»
Грустная книга. Дед так и не нашёл свою смерть. И мудрецом не стал. Но я снова вспомнил, как и за что любил его прежние книги.
