omnipotent youth society (“oys” for short) is a chinese indie-rock band formed in 1996 and their first self-titled album was released 14 years later, in 2010;

oys was formed in shijiazhuang, the capital city of hebei province, china;
despite the fact that oys released only two albums in more than 20 years of existing, they gained popularity as the voice of the modern day chinese youth, with “down-to earth lyrics” reflecting the harsh realities of their home city in hebei, channeling “a sense of unease about what the future might bring”;
