Стороны конструктивно обсудили возможные шаги по реализации договоренностей, достигнутых 16 октября в ходе телефонных переговоров президентов Владимира Путина и Дональда Трампа.
Марко Рубио подчеркнул важность предстоящих встреч как возможности для Москвы и Вашингтона сотрудничать в продвижении долгосрочного урегулирования российско-украинского конфликта в соответствии с подходом президента Трампа.
Ожидается, что следующая встреча Лаврова и Рубио, посвящённая подготовке саммита России и США, может состояться 23 октября.
Ранее Дональд Трамп предложил провести встречу лидеров двух стран в Будапеште, инициативу поддержали в Кремле.
