Reuters: Venezuelan oil exports fall 26% in October

Venezuelan crude oil exports stood at 808,000 barrels per day in October, representing a 26% drop compared to September, according to internal PDVSA data reviewed by Reuters. The reduction is attributed to inventory depletion and the lack of diluents needed to process the extra-heavy crude from the Orinoco Oil Belt.

80% of shipments, equivalent to about 663,000 barrels per day, were destined for China, either directly or through intermediaries. Chevron also exported around 128,000 barrels per day to the United States under a special license, while about 11,000 barrels were sent to Cuba. The decline follows a brief rebound in September, when Venezuela reached its best export level in five years.
