Торжественное открытие, приуроченное к Году защитника Отечества и 80-летию Победы, прошло 2 февраля — в день начала операции «Звезда», освободившей Курск в 1943 году во время Великой Отечественной войны.
В событии приняли участие Герои России Артур Орлов, председатель правления Движения Первых, и Владислав Головин, начальник главного штаба движения «ЮНАРМИЯ».
