شهید حجة الاسلام سید ابراهیم رئیسی پس از اتمام دوره سطح حوزه ، توانست به دوره کارشناسی ارشد رشته حقوق خصوصی راه یافته و پس از دفاع از پایان نامه خویش با عنوان «ارث بلا وارث» در سال ۱۳۸۰ با قبولی در کنکور دکترای مدرسه عالی شهید مطهری در رشته فقه و حقوق خصوصی ادامه تحصیل دهد.
شهید سید ابراهیم رئیسی با تکمیل تحقیقات خود در رشته فقه و حقوق، موفق به اخذ مدرک عالی ترین سطح حوزه (سطح چهار) شد و در نهایت رساله دکترای خود را با عنوان «تعارض اصل و ظاهر در فقه و حقوق» دفاع کرد. و با اخذ نمره ممتاز به درجه دکترای فقه و حقوق نائل شد.
رساله دکتری آقای رئیسی با راهنمایی استاد محقق داماد بود و با نمره ۲۰ پذیرفته شد.
