گروه تهدیدات سایبری ایرانی معروف به MuddyWater به سنت و شیوه همیشگی آزمایش شده خود در تکیه بر ابزار‌های قانونی مدیریت از راه دور برای مدیریت سیستم‌های هدف و قربانی‌ها ادامه می‌دهد. بنا بر ادعا‌ها، در‌حالی‌که این گروه قبلا از ScreenConnect، RemoteUtilities و Syncro استفاده کرده است، یک تحلیل جدید که توسط Group-IB انجام شده، استفاده این گروه از نرم‌افزار پشتیبانی از راه دور SimpleHelp در ماه ژوئن ٢٠٢٢ را نشان می‌دهد. به نقل از این گزارش، گروه MuddyWater که حداقل از سال ٢٠١٧ فعال است، به‌عنوان یک عنصر زیرمجموعه در وزارت اطلاعات و امنیت جمهوری اسلامی (MOIS) ارزیابی می‌شود. برخی از اهداف اصلی این گروه عبارتند از ترکیه، پاکستان، امارات متحده عربی، عراق، اسرائیل، عربستان سعودی، اردن، ایالات متحده آمریکا، آذربایجان و افغانستان.

Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. What distinguishes the app from competitors is its use of what's known as channels: Public or private feeds of photos and videos that can be set up by one person or an organization. The channels can be followed by an unlimited number of people. Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social networks, there is no advertising on Telegram and the flow of information is not driven by an algorithm. To that end, when files are actively downloading, a new icon now appears in the Search bar that users can tap to view and manage downloads, pause and resume all downloads or just individual items, and select one to increase its priority or view it in a chat. Individual messages can be fully encrypted. But the user has to turn on that function. It's not automatic, as it is on Signal and WhatsApp. Elsewhere, version 8.6 of Telegram integrates the in-app camera option into the gallery, while a new navigation bar gives quick access to photos, files, location sharing, and more.
