در این زمان ۲۳۶ سال از مرگ اسکندر مقدونی که به شاهنشاهی هخامنشی پایان داده بود می گذشت و اکنون مقدونیه کشور و زادگاه او توسط یک پادشاه ایرانی از دودمان هخامنشی که خود را جانشین و وارث داریوش و کوروش می دانست مورد تسخیر واقع گردید.
✍برگردان:《در بخش بعدی این اثر، به خاندان آرتاباز می‌پردازیم که برای حفظ موقعیت ناپایدار در سرزمین‌های اوکسین، در زمان مهرداد ششم ملقب به اوپاتور به شکوه و جلال رسید، کسی که بدبختی‌هایش به ندرت از ثروت انباشته شده‌ی جد بزرگش داریوش کمتر است.》
