По информации портала, Кариньш покинет пост 10 апреля. Голосование за кандидатуру нового главы МИД республики пройдет 11 апреля.
LSM отмечает, что отставка может быть связана со скандалом, который разгорелся из-за зарубежных поездок политика «на специальных рейсах или так называемых частных самолетах».
Ранее Кариньш заявлял о желании возглавить Североатлантический альянс.
