شرکت چینی DJI که بزرگ‌ترین سازنده پهپاد در جهان محسوب می‌شود، از وزارت دفاع ایالات متحده به‌خاطر ثبت اسم این شرکت در فهرست «شرکت‌های نظامی چینی» شکایت کرد. DJI مدعی شده هیچ رابطه‌ای با مقامات چین ندارد و اقدام وزارت دفاع به‌طور ناعادلانه‌ای به کسب‌وکار آن‌ها آسیب زده است.
شرکت DJI در شکایت خود می‌گوید از سال 2022 که نام شرکت به این فهرست اضافه شده است، «معاملات تجاری خود را از دست داده، به‌عنوان عامل تهدیدکننده امنیت ملی تحقیر شده و از ثبت قرارداد با چند آژانس دولتی فدرال منع شده است». همچنین کارمندان این شرکت «مکرر تحقیر می‌شوند» و «در مکان‌های عمومی مورد آزار و اذیت و توهین قرار می‌گیرند».
