Но в конце лета в верховьях реки выпали обильные осадки, уровень реки как и её мутность существенно выросли. Таких двуцветных плюмов на Чукотке много. Самый известный в Усть-Белой, где более прозрачная (горная) река Белая (по цвету воды) впадает в тёмный Анадырь. А река Анадырь тёмная потому что в неё впадает река Майн, протекающая по тундровым равнинам Параполо-Бельского дола. Воды в Майне больше, чем в реке Анадырь, поэтому Майн затемняет её.
