Недавно я узнал, что существует бесплатный клон Netflix с русской озвучкой. Он называется Zetflix. Когда-то давно у меня был бесплатный тест-драйв Netflix, я его оформил для того чтобы посмотреть с субтитрами документалку The Devil Next Door (Дьявол по соседству), которая тогда только вышла на экраны. По прошествии времени могу сказать - ничего интереснее этой документалки на всем Netflix/Zetflix нет. Это остросюжетная драма об Иване Демьянюке - украинском эмигранте в США, которого местная еврейская община обвинила в том, что он был охранником лагерей смерти во времена Холокоста. Внешне Иван очень похож на одного актера из "Клана Сопрано". Позабавил плакат активистов Ку-клукс-клана на демонстрации в защиту Демьянюка "You killed my Saviour" ("Вы убили моего Спасителя") в адрес евреев. В общем это надо смотреть. You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. Pavel Durov, a billionaire who embraces an all-black wardrobe and is often compared to the character Neo from "the Matrix," funds Telegram through his personal wealth and debt financing. And despite being one of the world's most popular tech companies, Telegram reportedly has only about 30 employees who defer to Durov for most major decisions about the platform. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. "For Telegram, accountability has always been a problem, which is why it was so popular even before the full-scale war with far-right extremists and terrorists from all over the world," she told AFP from her safe house outside the Ukrainian capital.
