19 июня для ветеранов прошёл краеведческий час "Основатель первой водолечебницы Твери", посвящённый 170 летию со дня рождения Петра Александровича Орфанова, тверского врача-новатора.
Сотрудники библиотеки им. Герцена показали видеопрезентацию и рассказали о жизни Орфанова П. А. , об его работы в Твери.
Доктор Орфанов специализировался на лечении заболеваний уха, горла и носа,
В 1905 году Пётр Александрович основал первую в Твери водолечебницу. Большая заслуга доктора Орфанова в открытии в 1914 году Черногубовского противотуберкулезного санатория, в оснащении и расширении Мариинской женской гимназии в Твери.
