With this year's solidarity event THIRTYSIX FIGHTS Vol. 4, we are supporting the Ari Clinic in Hesekê, which is run by the women's organisation WJAS.
Opened in 2019, the facility is one of a total of five clinics and contributes to basic health care in northern and eastern Syria (‘Rojava’).
Around 500 women and children are treated here every month.
The services are virtually free of charge and therefore indispensable, especially for poorer women.
In addition to medical treatment, there are regular preventive seminars on diseases and psychological issues, as well as a centre for naturopathy, where information is provided on local medicinal plants and methods.

A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. Right now the digital security needs of Russians and Ukrainians are very different, and they lead to very different caveats about how to mitigate the risks associated with using Telegram. For Ukrainians in Ukraine, whose physical safety is at risk because they are in a war zone, digital security is probably not their highest priority. They may value access to news and communication with their loved ones over making sure that all of their communications are encrypted in such a manner that they are indecipherable to Telegram, its employees, or governments with court orders. Although some channels have been removed, the curation process is considered opaque and insufficient by analysts.
