تفسیر آیه: خداوند متعال خبر می‌دهد کسانی که کفر ورزیده و به کفر متصف شده و رنگ کفر به خود گرفته و کفر تبدیل به صفت آنها شده است، هیچ مانعی آنها را از کفر باز نمی‌دارد و هیچ بنده‌‌ای برای آنها مفید نخواهد بود و آنها به کفر خود ادامه می‌دهند. پس برای آنها یکسان است آنها را بیم دهی یا بیم ندهی، چرا که ایمان نمی‌آورند. کفر یعنی انکار تمام آنچه پیامبر ﷺ آورده است و یا انکار بعضی از آن، پس دعوت و فراخوانی به‌سوی دین برای کافران سودی ندارد، جز آن‌که بر آنان اتمام حجّت شود. این آیه طمع و امید پیامبر ﷺ را به ایمان آوردن‌شان قطع می‌کند و به ایشان یادآور می‌شود که به حال آنها تاسف نخورد و در حسرت ایمان نیاوردن آنها خود را به رنج و مشقّت نیاندازد.
