Вторая диаграмма показывает, что менее трети когда-либо состоявших в браке мужчин и женщин среднего и высшего класса когда-либо разводились. Среди рабочих и бедных мужчин и женщин, которые когда-либо вступали в брак, более 40% когда-либо разводились.

Америка всё больше разделяется по классам и в демографии. Американцы среднего и высшего класса с большей вероятностью выигрывают от крепких и стабильных браков, а рабочий класс и бедные американцы всё чаще сталкиваются с более хрупкими семьями или вообще живут без семьи.
