On 28 June 2025, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board approved the following recipients of the 2025 MGA Outstanding Large, Medium and Small Section Awards, based on 2024 activities:
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Large Section Award recipient is the IEEE Jordan Section from Region 8
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Medium Section Award recipient is the IEEE Iran Section from Region 8
The 2025 MGA Outstanding Small Section Award recipient is the IEEE Costa Rica Section from Region 9

Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats. Such instructions could actually endanger people — citizens receive air strike warnings via smartphone alerts. "Someone posing as a Ukrainian citizen just joins the chat and starts spreading misinformation, or gathers data, like the location of shelters," Tsekhanovska said, noting how false messages have urged Ukrainians to turn off their phones at a specific time of night, citing cybersafety. "There are several million Russians who can lift their head up from propaganda and try to look for other sources, and I'd say that most look for it on Telegram," he said.
