⚡Новости от Manul Working Group: в мае учёным удалось проверить 29 фотоловушек, установленных в Центральном Казахстане – несколько из которых усыновлены вами, подписчиками Манулизации! 🫶🏻
На них были зафиксированы манулы и другие пушистые жители степей.
Урааа!🔥

Учёные отмечают невероятно высокую активность манула: он был зафиксирован на половине проверенных фотоловушек!
Специалисты связывают это с высоким пиком численности пищух в 2024-2025 г.г.
Есть пищухи – есть манулы! 😁👌🏻

▫️Повторно снять данные с этих фотоловушек, а также проверить остальные учёные планируют в течение лета и осенью.

⚡️News from the Manul Working Group:
In May, scientists were able to check 29 camera traps installed in Central Kazakhstan — several of them adopted by you, followers of Manulization! 🫶🏻
The traps captured manuls and other fluffy steppe dwellers. Hooray!! 🔥

Researchers are reporting an incredibly high level of manul activity — the cats appeared on half of the checked camera traps!
Experts link this to the peak population of pikas in 2024–2025.
Where there are pikas — there are manuls! 😁👌🏻

▫️ Scientists plan to revisit these traps and check the remaining ones throughout the summer and autumn.

▫️ Photos and videos of animals from your manul-cams (+ ours) will be uploaded to a special section on the Manulization website after sorting!

Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender. Oh no. There’s a certain degree of myth-making around what exactly went on, so take everything that follows lightly. Telegram was originally launched as a side project by the Durov brothers, with Nikolai handling the coding and Pavel as CEO, while both were at VK. Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
