Из интересных новостей — моя статья про песёля победила на конкурсе статей Технотекст-7 и попала в список “Выбор команды Хабра”. Собака за свой вклад определенно заслуживает отдельного приза.
Успел записать большой подкаст вместе с основательницей FemTech Force, Ирой. Поговорили про технологии для здоровья, Оуру, чем занимается моя команда, где в HealthTech-е машинное обучение и AI, и к чему всё это идёт. Где-то к концу июля станет доступна запись и я смогу её пошарить.
И, наконец, пояснение для прикрепленного фото. Не так давно завел традицию привозить из путешествий старые комиксы про Дональда Дака. В этот раз в Париже на барахолке нашел издание 1955 года, а в Копенгагене аж из 1950-го. Что круто, зная шведский, читать и понимать датский не так уж и сложно, но вот на слух понять практически нереально. Сразу вспоминается Language Lessons из Scandinavia and the World🇩🇰

Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. VK is Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, a social network used for public and private messaging, audio and video sharing as well as online gaming. In January, SimpleWeb reported that VK was Russia’s fourth most-visited website, after Yandex, YouTube and Google’s Russian-language homepage. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Durov wrote that Telegram was "increasingly becoming a source of unverified information," and he worried about the app being used to "incite ethnic hatred." At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion.
