החוקרים, עמית אסרף ואיתי קרוק מחברת Extensiontotal, גילו את הקוד החשוד בתוספים ודיווחו על כך למיקרוסופט. בעקבות הדיווח, מיקרוסופט הסירה את התוספים מה-Marketplace וחסמה את המפתח. משתמשים העושים שימוש בתוספים קיבלו התראות על השבתתם.
