گزارش‌ها حاکی از آن است که دیشب، یک فروند پهپاد که احتمالاً توسط ایران یا نیروهای نیابتی مورد حمایت آن پرتاب شده بود، در نزدیکی کنسولگری ایالات متحده در شهر اربیل واقع در شمال عراق سرنگون شده است.

براساس مستندات منتشرشده، این حادثه منجر به به‌صدا درآمدن آژیرهای هشدار و شنیده‌شدن صدای چندین انفجار در محوطه کنسولگری آمریکا و همچنین فرودگاه بین‌المللی اربیل شد.
