Мы очень любим новогодние сборники рассказов. Нам нравится сама концепция: это как адвент-календарь с шоколадками. Рассказ небольшой, на него вполне можно потратить полчасика, зауютившись с книжкой после работы, чтобы создать настроение. А подаришь кому-то — и у человека будет приятное занятие на все каникулы.

Однако мы до сих пор не определились, классики или современники. Поэтому к этому Новому году подготовили сразу два сборника:
«Открыть 31 декабря» с рассказами Наринэ Абгарян, Александра Подольского, Эмилии Галаган и других современных авторов
«Самая волшебная ночь» с рассказами Э.Т.А. Гофмана, Г.Х. Андерсена, Н. Гоголя, А. Чехова и других отечественных и зарубежных классиков.

The picture was mixed overseas. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.6%, under pressure from U.S. regulatory scrutiny on New York-listed Chinese companies. Stocks were more buoyant in Europe, where Frankfurt’s DAX surged 1.4%. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information. The message was not authentic, with the real Zelenskiy soon denying the claim on his official Telegram channel, but the incident highlighted a major problem: disinformation quickly spreads unchecked on the encrypted app.
