Тяжелый транспортный вертолёт Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion, принадлежавший 3-му авиационному крылу Корпуса Морской пехоты США, был уничтожен в результате пожара после аварийной посадки.
Согласно распространенному пресс-релизу пресс-службы 3-го экипаж из четырех человек был вынужден совершить аварийную посадку из-за пожара двигателя во время полёта.
Вертолет был уничтожен пожаром на земле. Никто из экипажа не пострадал.
