Прокурор Дмитро Заяц під час судових засідань зазначав, що Куколь знав про незаконність зберігання зброї, бо раніше був судимий, зокрема за статтею 263 "Незаконне поводження зі зброєю".
Чоловіка визнали винним у вчиненні кримінального правопорушення, передбаченого частиною 1 статті 263 КК України, та призначили йому покарання — позбавлення волі на три роки. Його одразу звільнили від відбування призначеного покарання з іспитовим терміном на один рік.
