В этот рыбный четверг мы будем рассматривать краснофигурное блюдо «Морские обитатели».

Большое нарядное блюдо с краснофигурной росписью было предназначено для подачи рыбы, приготовленной в расчете на нескольких человек. Блюдо с подобным декором могло бы быть изготовлено и из бронзы. На широкой плоскости этого глиняного блюда изображены пять крупных рыбин, семь мелких и три моллюска. Парные элементы росписи и симметрично расположенные фигуры создают впечатление общего равновесия.

Изображения рыб на блюде очень реалистичны, полны деталей, воспроизводящих разнообразие форм, рисунков чешуи, плавников, усов и жабр, что свидетельствует о высоком мастерстве рисовальщика, о хорошем знании натуры.
