On December 5 and 6, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon celebrated services for the Feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC. On Thursday evening, His Beatitude presided at the Festal Vigil. Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Archpriest George Kokhno and Archpriest Valery Shemchuck, cathedral Associate Priests.

On Friday morning, Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Beatitude were the cathedral clergy along with Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino, OCA Secretary, Archpriest Joseph Woodill, and Archpriest Sean Levine. The cathedral choir sang the responses under the direction of Mr. Kevin Basil Fritts.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude congratulated the cathedral clergy and faithful on the occasion of their patronal feast, encouraging all those present to follow St. Nicholas’s example of meekness and humility. A lenten meal followed in the parish hall.
