-NYC has begun its “congestion pricing” in the city.
Like many progressive policies, it has been tried before in other places. And like many progressive policies, it was a failure that only led to bad outcomes. --So of course they implemented it in NYC - of course they did.
--If you want to understand the “knock on effects” of this, look into the “Blade Runners” in the UK, and what led to them coming into being.
War/Military:
-An alleged line item breakdown spreadsheet of the $446,103,076 that the Biden-Harris admin sent the Taliban in 2024, with $40mm to $80mm still being sent every week, was posted via @AGTAfghanistan this weekend.

-After Toretsk and Chasov Yar fell, and the Kursk offensive has gone poorly, UKR decided to launch another offensive maneuver to try to take RUS territory.
--By all (non-NAFO) accounts this seems to have gone poorly.
--Neither I nor others can see what the envisioned strategic or tactical value in this move was - the towns they moved on had RUS forces nearby that could (and did) act as reinforcements quickly.
-There was an extremely graphic video that highlights the realities of war and the “respect of mutual combat” that has been taken away from the battlefield with drones, screens, air strikes, and other “disconnections” from the reality of what it means to take another life in combat.
--The people who most ardently call for war know nothing of actual warfighting, nor do they have any warfighting experience, nor will they, nor will their kids. ple to watch.
--Many of those are clanging the swords right now towards multiple fonts - trying to raise the flag to send you or your kids or your neighbors, but not themselves.
--If you want an immunity shot against the propaganda and war cries (that they will never heed) from the NeoCons, this video is the strongest booster you can imagine.
--It also highlights something that video games and movies don’t show you - the mutual respect between actual warriors who have danced “the final dance” together.

-Egypt has begun conducting military activity in Central Sinai. Some analysts are looking at potential fighting between Egypt and Israel - we shall see.
--Egypt has another potential mention later in today’s show regarding the NOLA attack - which is an interesting wrinkle, given this news.
Markets/economics:
-Some of you may have noticed that I’ve begun to include currency pairs in these posts/podcasts - there are a few reasons for that, which I hope at least some of you picked up on.
--If you remember, my adding the USDJPY came ahead of the “carry trade” crisis. Adding the MOVE index came ahead of the bond market crisis. This is not personal investment advice, but a bit of “foot stomping” for you to keep an eye on.
--I’ve made a few comments about the USDMXN pair (US Dollar to Mexican Peso) lately. It made a significant shift in line with their recent election of a progressive, and there may be more turbulence ahead for our southern neighbor:

-The jobs report is set to be released. It seems like they are finally stopping the fudging of the numbers that were meant to pretend Bidenomics was a success and to prop up Kamabla, so I’m expecting ugliness (reality).
-As of this writing (Sunday evening), futures markets for all of the major indices, and gold, are in the red.
--Oil, however, is up.
-EUR/USD is about the same, $1.0296
-USD/GBP is as well, at $0.8051
-USD/JPY is at $157.7770
-USD/AUD is at $1.6067
-USD/CAD is at $1.4442
-USD/MXN is at $20.6240
-BTC is still pushing towards $100k, now at $98,386.18
