Бюст конструктора космических летательных аппаратов, лауреата государственной премии СССР Руслана Владимировича Комаева установили во дворе Школы космонавтики во Владикавказе.
Его образ увековечил скульптор Олег Цхурбаев по инициативе главы Северной Осетии Сергея Ивановича Меняйло и министра образования республики Эллы Маирбековны Алибековой. Это дань памяти выдающемуся человеку, патриоту своей малой Родины, благодаря которому сегодня дети Осетии познают удивительный мир космоса.
Очень жаль, что Руслан Владимирович сегодня не видит, с каким энтузиазмом дети посещают планетарий, Школу космонавтики, принимают участие в конкурсах, посвященных космосу, как в школах республики открываются космические классы. Но я рад, что то, о чём он мечтал при жизни, сбывается.
