🇷🇺🇮🇳On June 5, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata Mr. Maxim Kozlov attended a grand celebration marking Russian Language Day and the 226th birth anniversary of Russia’s national poet Alexander Pushkin at the Institute of Russian Language, Gorky Sadan (Russian House).
👏As Chief Guest, Mr. Kozlov lauded the students’ dedication to mastering Russian and emphasized the day’s significance in strengthening Indo-Russian cultural ties, noting that Pushkin’s legacy "unites our nations through the power of language and art".
✨The event featured a vibrant cultural program prepared by over 50 students from the Institute and Visva Bharati University (Shantiniketan), who performed Pushkin-inspired songs, recited his poems and presented traditional Russian dances.
🗓Established by UNESCO in 2010, Russian Language Day annually honors Pushkin’s birth date (June 6), celebrating his role as a foundational figure in Russian literature and a symbol of cross-cultural dialogue.
