115 лет назад, 21 (8) сентября 1910 года, родился выдающийся советский художник-баталист, автор великого полотна «Победа» и многих других замечательных картин, заслуженный деятель искусств РСФСР, лауреат Сталинской премии, участник Великой Отечественной войны Пётр Александрович Кривоногов (1910-1967).
Воспитанник Кинешемского детского дома. Именно в Кинешме он и начинался как художник.

В городе Кинешме Ивановской области одна из улиц названа в честь П.А.Кривоногова.
