Приглядываюсь - а это бабочка! Огромная, размером с ладонь 🖐🙀
Красивущая!!! Неподвижная…
Гугл определил её как rothschildia orizaba - крупная ночная бабочка из семейства павлиноглазок. Взрослая особь живёт всего лишь 5-10 дней 😢.
Обитает в тёплых Америках: Мексике 🇲🇽, Коста-Рике 🇨🇷, Панаме 🇵🇦, Эквадоре 🇪🇨 и Колумбии 🇨🇴.
Если в названии бабочки вам показалась фамилия династии Ротшильдов, то это не совпадение! Имя дано в честь Уолтера Ротшильда, который и финансировал экспедиции поиска новых видов, и сам собрал крупнейшую частную коллекцию в мире - более двух миллионов экземпляров 🦋
