لقد رجعنا إلى العصر البدائي من جديد، كأن الزمن تراجع آلاف السنين إلى الوراء، لا ماء يكفينا، لا كهرباء تُضيء عتمتنا، ولا سقف يحفظنا من برد الليل أو قصف النهار..لقد ضاعت حياتنا بطريقةٍ مُرعبة، وبصورةٍ مؤلمة لا تُصدَّق، كأننا كنا نحيا في حلمٍ جميل ثم استيقظنا فجأة على كابوسٍ لا ينتهي. سُلبت منا حياة الراحة التي كنا نعرفها، تلك الحياة البسيطة النبيلة التي كنا نحمد الله عليها، فإذا بنا الآن نغرق في حياة الذل، نتجرع مرارتها كل ساعة، نكابدها في كل نفس، حتى صارت قلوبنا تُثقلها الحسرة، وأرواحنا تكاد تختنق من قسوة الواقع الذي فُرض علينا قهرًا بلا رحمة.
