Традиция создания именных и тематических избирательных участков зародилась в Тульской области в 2011 году. В основу легла идея популяризации исторических мест и брендов Тульской области, а также повышения активности избирателей.
К единому дню голосования 2024 года в регионе появятся два новых тематических участка. Один из них, посвященный России, в г.Донском. Второй – в Заокском районе. Он посвящен писателю, философу, ученому, агроному Андрею Тимофеевичу Болотову.
