Сегодня многие правоохранители участвуют в специальной военной операции, а также обеспечивают порядок на улицах города-побратима Мариуполя.
В Кировском районе на площади Стачек есть скульптурная композиция Павла Винокурцева, участкового уполномоченного ленинградской милиции. В ноябре 1941 года во время бомбёжки он прикрыл собой девочку, оказавшуюся посреди улицы на трамвайных путях. Сам погиб, а девочку спас. Его поступок символизирует подвиг всех ленинградских милиционеров в годы блокады.
