Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government.
