قال: «من تعار من الليل فقال: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، الحمد لله وسبحان الله ولا إله إلا الله و الله أكبر ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، ثم قال اللهم اغفر لي أو دعا؟ استجيب له. فإن توضأ قبلت صلاته [أخرجه البخاري).
قال الحافظ ابن حجر رحمه الله: "إنما يتفق ذلك لمن تعود الذكر واستأنس به، وغلب عليه حتى صار حدیث نفسه، نومه ويقظته، فأكرم من اتصف بذلك بإجابة دعوته وقبول صلاته" فتح الباري)
