Ein Verdacht auf Geflügelpest im Grimmaer Ortsteil Köllmichen hat sich Anfang März bestätigt. Wie das Landratsamt des Landkreises Leipzig mitteilte, wurde das Influenzavirus in einer Geflügelhaltung mit rund 100 Tieren nachgewiesen.
Betroffen ist der Rasse-Geflügelhof von Wilfried Große. Nach behördlichen Vorgaben müssen alle Tiere getötet werden, um eine Ausbreitung des Virus zu verhindern. Dazu rückten das Veterinäramt und die Freiwillige Feuerwehr zur Umsetzung der Maßnahme an.
Vor dem Hof versammelten sich etwa 50 Unterstützer des Züchters, um gegen die Keulung zu protestieren und ihre Solidarität zu zeigen. Auch die Polizei war vor Ort.‼️
